Holiday Decorating

Decorating for Christmas or any occasion can be a bit daunting so here are some suggestions to help with your decorating.

Try choosing a theme and then stick to it. For example, you may choose to decorate with a collection of Santas, or pick a color theme like silver and red, or go with a vintage look. Whatever you decide, make sure you choose decorations that work together, at least in the rooms that open onto one another.

Set up vignettes displaying your collections. Make sure you vary size and height for interest, which will also keep the eye moving around the display. Pay attention to symmetry and balance.

Often the term “less is more” is the way to go. Adding too many elements can make your décor look chaotic. Layer decorations with care to avoid a look of clutter.
